By submitting an entry to this contest, applicants ("Applicants") agree to these official rules and regulations and acknowledge that the decisions of Toon Boom Animation Inc. (hereafter known as “Toon Boom") shall be binding and final in all matters relating to this Contest. Please review carefully.
Art. 1. Definition:
The “What I like about Harmony" Contest is scheduled from June 10 until October 4, 2013. It is organized by Toon Boom.
Art. 2. Eligibility:
The video must be shot on a good quality webcam and cannot be longer than 2 minutes. The video must begin with the statement "What I like about Harmony…" The rest is up to you
Art. 3. Technical Criteria:
All submissions must meet the following technical specifications:
• QuickTime (MOV) movie format with widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio
• Maximum Duration 2 minutes
• Resolution of 720p (1280x720)
• Also required, one still image with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, JPG format.
Art. 4. Registration:
Between June 10 and September 12, 2013, participants will be able to enter the contest using the registration form on Toon Boom’s website (contests.toonboom.com).
Art. 5. Copyrights:
By submitting an entry to the Contest, applicants acknowledge and confirm that there exists no other production or development option or agreement in place with respect to the materials being submitted. Additionally, entrants expressly acknowledge that all exclusive worldwide rights, for all media and uses, now known or invented in the future, are granted to Toon Boom.
In addition, the entrant acknowledges that they are the legal rights holder to any and all elements submitted for this contest and that anything that is not covered by fair-use or parody laws is the property of the entrant, and/or that the entrant has secured appropriate and necessary rights from any third parties and is able to transfer those rights to Toon Boom.
The logos Toon Boom are the property of Toon Boom.
Art. 6. Selection:
A committee composed of Toon Boom’s representatives will review the submissions and determine which, if any, warrant admission in the final contest. All selected entries will be submitted to a public vote. The evaluation committee will not have to justify its decisions.
Art. 7. Promotion:
The authors and rights owners grant to Toon Boom an exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute the Image(s)/Clip of their respective films in all media, for all purposes it deems necessary.
Art. 8. Vote:
The selected movies will be posted on Toon Boom's web site and visitors will be able to vote from September 23 until October 4, 2013. The winners will be announced on October 4, 2013.
Art. 9. Winners:
Prize for each winner includes one Toon Boom software of their choice (as stand-alone version only).
Art. 10. Unforeseen issues and complaints:
The contest organizers shall not be liable for any decision that they make related to unforeseen issues and for granting special derogation for requests sent in writing. Participating at the contest implies full agreement with the contest rules, without exception.
If for any reason, the contest is canceled or cannot be administered or completed as planned, Toon Boom reserves the right at their sole discretion to terminate, modify or/or suspend the contest and to determine the Winners by having the Judges evaluate all eligible entries received prior to the action taken, or as otherwise deemed fair and equitable by Toon Boom. By entering the contest, applicants agree that should the contest be terminated for any reason, such applicant irrevocably waives any right to seek and / or obtain rescission and/or equitable and/or injunctive relief.
