Terms of Use

MyOuterSpace and Toon Boom Animation Inc. (hereafter known as MOS and Toon Boom) include its successors, licensees, assignees, directors and employees under these terms and conditions. The Content refers to all written, animated and/or audio visual elements and ideas offered or submitted to the Contest including but not limited to project synopsis, outlines, biographies, videos, software, designs, likenesses, artwork, images, music, and information, tangible and intangible, including derivative works, on all media and formats, existing or future. A selection of the submitted Content will be made available for public viewing during and after the period of the "My Outer Space Contest" to promote it and potential subsequent versions of the Contest.

Applications require providing personal information. Your personal information must be complete, accurate, and YOURS. Any private information and/or data relating to your participation in the Contest or your uploaded submission content that you are asked to supply or that you supply voluntarily as part of the submission process will only be used by MOS and Toon Boom as part of the process of administering and promoting the Contest. As part of the application process, you will be asked to ACCEPT these terms of use. On doing so, you will be deemed to have consented to these terms of use as well as The Contest Rules and Regulations, and you will be bound by these Terms and Conditions. MOS and Toon Boom may at their sole discretion disclose any submitted content to the police, regulatory bodies or any legal advisers in connection with any suspected or alleged criminal activity of offense or suspected breach of these Terms and Conditions, including by not limited to any claim of infringement by you or otherwise where required by law.

When you upload Content to the Contest website, you are confirming that you have reviewed in full and are in full compliance with the official Rules and Regulations section on The Contest website (

You shall be solely responsible for your own Content and the consequences of uploading said submission content. In connection with all Content that you upload to the Contest Website (, you affirm, represent and/or warrant that you own, or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize MOS and Toon Boom to use the Content, including without limitation any written material, graphic designs, animated designs contained therein.

All materials provided for this contest, including the voice clips and music, are the property of MOS and their use is explicitly limited to the Contest entry. Unauthorized use of the materials -- whether they are provided by MOS, Toon Boom or any other source related to the Contest -- is expressly prohibited and may result in criminal prosecution and/or civil liability.

You may not use The Contest's website on MOS and Toon Boom's respective web site for any illegal purpose, to make unsolicited offers or advertisements, to impersonate or falsely claim affiliation with any person or entity, to misrepresent, harass, defraud or defame others, or to negatively present MOS and Toon Boom or the Contest. You are not allowed to transmit malicious code or to collect information of other users through MOS and Toon Boom as well as the Contest websites (, and You may not take any action to interrupt the functionality of or tamper with the content contained on ( and or their servers or to unreasonably affect others' enjoyment of the Contest or ( and in any way.

You agree to assume all risks of using the Contest website and not to hold responsible MOS and Toon Boom and its affiliates, employees, officers and licensees and assigns and the Judges, for any damages, losses, or harm, tangible or intangible, including but not limited to compensatory, consequential, punitive, incidental, or attorney's fees arising from your participation in the Contest.

MOS and Toon Boom will not be held liable for late, lost, delayed, not received, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, stolen, fraudulent, or illegible entries (all of which entries shall be automatically void and not eligible for the Prizes).

Applicants are responsible for any costs, taxes, duties or levies incurred as a result of winning a Prize. In addition, Applicants hereby agree and accept that Organizers are not responsible for any taxes, duties, levies or other fees and expenses arising from Applicant's receipt and/or use of Prize(s). All Prizes are subject to the terms and conditions of the supplier of the relevant service included in the Prize.

MOS and Toon Boom reserve the right to cancel the Contest in the event that MOS and Toon Boom determine, at their sole discretion, that there are an insufficient number of eligible entries submitted for the Contest.

MOS and Toon Boom may, at their sole discretion and at any time, amend the contest rules, terms and conditions.

If for any reason in the opinion of MOS and Toon Boom, at their sole discretion, the Contest is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or other causes beyond its control, then MOS and Toon Boom reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.

The photograph, name, voice, video footage and/or statements of selected participants may be used for publicity purposes without compensation, in any future publicity carried out by MOS and Toon Boom.

Applicants have read and accepted Rules & Regulations and Terms and Conditions of this Contest, which shall be final and legally binding, in all matters relating to this Contest. All decisions made by MOS and Toon Boom with respect to the Contest will be final.

Under no circumstance will the liability of MOS and Toon Boom exceed the cash value of the Prizes.

The Contest shall be governed by the laws of the state of California and the Contest will be construed in all respects in accordance with the laws of the state of California applicable to an agreement entered into and to be wholly performed therein, and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the provincial courts of California, regardless of your own citizenship.

You may not amend these terms. If any of the terms are illegal or unenforceable or there is a claim that we have breached any of these terms, it does not affect or invalidate the other terms
